Running: Week 10

2007-07-29 9:13 CET

I only ran two times this week for a total of 12 km. I had a fewer which lasted several days in the beginning of the week so I figured I ‘d play it safe and wait all the way till friday to do any more running. It took 3 km just to get the stiffness beaten out of my legs. Saturday was the same, but I think my muscles softened up nicely.

This is the weekly schedule which I intend to follow for the following 3-4 weeks:

Monday: 10 km normal speed
Tuesday: 10 km normal speed
Wednesday: 6 km fartlek
Thursday: rest
Friday: 10 km normal speed
Saturday: 6 km tempo
Sunday: rest

Running: Week 9

2007-07-22 14:12 CET

As planned: I ran 42 km this week. To mix it up a bit I tried a bit of fartlek on wednesday and ran a 6 km tempo run on saturday.

Today (sunday) I woke up with a cold so I figure I should probably not do any running on monday. In any case it makes planning ahead a bit difficult. Hopefully I’ll get in shape for a run on tuesday.

Running: Week 8

The blisters on my feet grow on top of each other now. They are multi level blisters. It’s not like they bother me much, but it’s not pretty.

I ran 42 km this week (3×10 + 2×6 km). That’s the equivalent of one full marathon. I think I’m going to maintain the same mileage for a while now.

Running: Week 7

2007-07-08 9:28 CET

Since this week was dedicated for recovery I only ran 3 times for a total of 26 km.

Next weeks target: 42 km.

Running: Week 6

2007-07-01 12:08 CET

I ran 2×10 + 3×6 = 38 km this week. Next week is plateau week, which means I will run a bit less to make sure my body gets some rest. Running is very though on the legs (knees in particular) and I don’t want to risk injury now that I’ve reached this far.
